Vlad Coric, M.D
Royalty Pharma plc has appointed Vlad Coric, M.D. to the company’s Board of Directors.
Dr. Coric is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Biohaven, a biopharmaceutical company specializing in the discovery, development, and commercialization of treatments across key therapeutic areas, including neuroscience, immunology, and oncology.
Under Dr. Coric’s leadership, Biohaven achieved significant milestones, including the FDA approval and launch of Nurtec ODT for migraine treatment, as well as the filing of an NDA for zavegepant, the first intranasal CGRP antagonist for ultra-rapid migraine relief. Dr. Coric also oversaw Biohaven’s growth from its founding to its US$13 billion acquisition by Pfizer in May 2022.
Dr. Coric brings over 20 years of experience in drug discovery and clinical development, having held roles at Yale School of Medicine and Bristol-Myers Squibb before leading Biohaven. He has expertise in multiple therapeutic areas, including neurology, psychiatry, immunology, oncology, and virology. Dr. Coric earned his medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine, after completing his postdoctoral internship and residency at Yale. He holds a Bachelor of Science in neurobiology and physiology from the University of Connecticut.
