Dan Staner
Merz Therapeutics has appointed Dan Staner as President, Region Europe.
In this role, Staner will oversee the company’s European operations and lead regional growth initiatives across key markets.
Staner will report directly to Stefan König, Chief Executive Officer of Merz Therapeutics, and will join the Therapeutics Executive Team. His appointment reflects the company’s continued focus on strengthening leadership capabilities and accelerating its growth strategy throughout Europe.
With extensive experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, Staner has held senior leadership roles with responsibility for country and regional profit and loss, major market launches, and the management of large, cross-functional teams. Throughout his career, he has successfully led organizations through periods of rapid growth and transformation, building strong partnerships with healthcare stakeholders and advancing access to innovative therapies for patients.
As President, Region Europe, Staner will be responsible for driving commercial execution, optimizing the regional product portfolio, and ensuring strong alignment with Merz Therapeutics’ global strategy. He will work closely with country leaders, functional heads, and global colleagues to further strengthen the company’s market presence and deliver sustainable, long-term value.
Staner succeeds Marcus Gollub, who stepped down from his role as President, Region Europe at the end of 2025 following a planned leadership transition.
