Royalty Pharma Appoints Greg Raskin as Senior Vice President, Head of Academic Initiatives

Royalty Pharma plc has appointed Greg Raskin, M.D., as Senior Vice President and Head of Academic Initiatives.

In his new role, Dr. Raskin will lead the company’s engagement with academic and nonprofit institutions and oversee the Royalty Pharma Translational Prize.

Dr. Raskin brings nearly three decades of experience spanning science, medicine, biotechnology, and investing. He joins Royalty Pharma from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President of Technology Development. During more than a decade at the institution, he led biotechnology startup initiatives, technology transfer, monetization, and business development activities.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Raskin served as a Vice President at AllianceBernstein, where he led healthcare and life sciences investments for the firm’s venture capital fund. He previously worked as a biotechnology analyst at Baker Brothers Investments and as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, advising pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.

Dr. Raskin earned his M.D. from Yale School of Medicine and a B.A. in molecular biophysics and biochemistry from Yale College. He currently serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Economics at Stanford University and Yale University, where he teaches courses focused on the economics and science of drug development.

His appointment strengthens Royalty Pharma’s engagement with the academic and nonprofit research ecosystem, bringing together his expertise in drug development, technology commercialization, biotechnology, and life sciences investing.
