Anne C. Whitaker
Alkermes plc has appointed Anne C. Whitaker as an independent director to its Board of Directors.
Whitaker brings extensive commercial, operational and governance experience across global pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations.
Whitaker most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of Aerami Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company. Before joining Aerami, she served as Chief Executive Officer of Novoclem Therapeutics, Inc. and Synta Pharmaceuticals Corporation. Earlier in her career, Whitaker held senior commercial and executive leadership positions at Bausch Health Companies, Inc., Sanofi S.A. and GlaxoSmithKline.
In addition to her executive experience, Whitaker has served on the boards of several public and private life sciences companies. She currently serves as a director of Basilea Pharmaceutica Ltd., a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company, and ICON plc, a healthcare intelligence and clinical research organization.
Whitaker also serves on the boards of private companies QurAlis LLC, Bespak, Inc., Beaconcure Technologies and Trinity Partners, LLC. Her previous board experience includes publicly traded companies such as Nykode Therapeutics, OraSure Technologies, Inc., Ergomed plc and Faron Pharmaceuticals, as well as several other public and private organizations within the life sciences sector.
Throughout her career, Whitaker has held leadership roles focused on commercial strategy, business growth and organizational transformation across pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Her board experience further adds expertise in corporate governance and strategic oversight.
Whitaker holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, with a minor in Business Administration, from the University of North Alabama. Her appointment adds an experienced biopharmaceutical executive and board director to Alkermes’ Board as the company continues to advance its business and portfolio.
