Neil Aubuchon
Viking Therapeutics, Inc., a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing novel therapies for metabolic and endocrine disorders, has appointed Neil Aubuchon as Chief Commercial Officer.
In this role, Mr. Aubuchon will lead Viking’s global commercial strategy as the company advances its pipeline toward later-stage clinical development and potential commercialization.
Mr. Aubuchon brings more than 20 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, with extensive leadership across global commercial, marketing, and strategic functions. His background includes a strong focus on cardiometabolic diseases, aligning closely with Viking’s therapeutic priorities. He is recognized for building and executing integrated commercial strategies across diverse markets and stages of product development.
Prior to joining Viking Therapeutics, Mr. Aubuchon served as Chief Commercial Officer at AbCellera, where he was responsible for shaping and executing the company’s overall commercial strategy. In this position, he supported the organization’s growth by strengthening its market positioning and advancing partnerships across the biopharmaceutical ecosystem.
Before AbCellera, Mr. Aubuchon held the role of Global Marketing Lead for Amgen’s General Medicine early portfolio. At Amgen, he developed integrated commercial strategies for the company’s non-oncology therapeutic areas and led global commercial planning for more than ten programs, including key assets within the cardiometabolic portfolio. His work contributed to aligning early-stage development with long-term commercial potential.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Aubuchon spent nearly 17 years at Eli Lilly, where he held a range of senior commercial leadership roles. These included Chief Marketing Officer in Australia and Japan, Head of Strategy and Operations for Lilly Bio-Medicines globally, and Vice President of Lilly Bio-Medicines in Japan. His international experience and deep commercial expertise are expected to play a critical role in supporting Viking Therapeutics’ future growth.
