INOVIO has announced the appointment of Steven Egge as its new Chief Commercial Officer.
In his new role, Mr. Egge will be responsible for leading the company's commercial strategy and operations as it prepares for the potential launch of its first DNA medicine, INO-3107, for the treatment of recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP).
"We are thrilled to welcome Steve to INOVIO as we move closer to becoming a commercial-stage company," said Dr. Jacqueline Shea, INOVIO's President and Chief Executive Officer. "With Steve's experience in launching new products, driving market share in competitive areas, and his background in immunology, vaccines, HPV, and rare diseases, he is an ideal leader to guide our commercial strategy, especially as we prepare for the potential launch of INO-3107 in 2025, pending FDA approval."
Mr. Egge expressed his excitement about joining the company, stating, "It's an incredible time to join INOVIO, with the opportunity to potentially launch the first therapeutic option for patients suffering from RRP, a rare HPV-related disease that drastically affects quality of life. I look forward to contributing to INOVIO's efforts in building strong commercial strategies and capabilities."
Before joining INOVIO, Mr. Egge held senior roles at Sumitomo Pharma, where he played a key role in launching Myfembree® and expanding into new therapeutic indications. Prior to that, he spent 20 years at Merck, where he led the HPV Vaccines Franchise and oversaw global launches for key products such as GARDASIL9® and VAXELIS®. He also served as Senior Vice President at Genfit Corp., where he focused on commercial planning for liver disease therapies.
