Veteran Allyson Gage
Psilera Inc., a biopharmaceutical company developing next-generation neuroplastogens and psychedelic therapies, has appointed Allyson Gage, PhD, as Vice President, Clinical Development.
In her new role, Dr. Gage will lead the clinical development strategy and operational execution of the company’s upcoming Phase 1 first-in-human clinical trial of its lead asset, PSIL-006.
Dr. Gage brings more than 25 years of experience in neuroscience and clinical development, with a track record of advancing multiple compounds through U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Investigational New Drug (IND) approval. Her expertise spans biomarker identification and evaluation across central nervous system (CNS) indications, small molecules, biologics, and cell therapies.
Her experience positions her to lead the development of PSIL-006 as Psilera prepares to enter clinical testing. The Phase 1a trial will evaluate the candidate’s safety, tolerability, and key biomarkers in human subjects. Psilera is developing PSIL-006 for potential applications across neuropsychiatric conditions, including depression, addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and neurodegenerative diseases.
The appointment comes as Psilera advances its clinical and corporate development efforts. The company recently closed an oversubscribed $8.8 million seed funding round to accelerate PSIL-006 toward clinical development. Psilera has also established strategic partnerships and received institutional support from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) through grant funding for IND-enabling studies.
With Dr. Gage leading clinical development, Psilera aims to advance PSIL-006 into its first human study while building the clinical foundation needed to evaluate its potential as a next-generation neuroplastogen for patients with significant unmet needs.
