Mark Herbert
METiS Pharmaceuticals, a clinical-stage, AI-driven biotechnology company pioneering next-generation drug delivery technologies, appointed Mark Herbert as Chief Business Officer (CBO).
In this role, Mr. Herbert will oversee global business development, drive strategic partnerships, and support the company’s growth and commercialization efforts.
Mr. Herbert brings more than two decades of experience in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries, with deep expertise in business development, strategic collaborations, and commercialization.
Most recently, he served as President of Arcturus Therapeutics, where he led transformative partnerships with Takeda Pharmaceutical and CureVac, generating over US$2 billion in collaboration value.
His previous roles include Vice President of Business Development at Varda Space Industries, Chief Business Officer at Scientist.com, and board member for multiple biotech companies.
Mr. Herbert’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for METiS, as the company continues to advance its AI-enabled lipid nanoparticle (LNP) delivery platforms. These platforms have demonstrated up to 20-fold improvements in efficacy for liver cancer and lung tumor treatments compared to industry standards and enable precise targeting of organs including the liver, lungs, spleen, muscle, and central nervous system.
With over 20 global pharma and biotech collaborations already in place, METiS is poised for accelerated innovation and impact.
With Mr. Herbert joining the leadership team, METiS enters a new phase of strategic expansion, focused on delivering breakthrough therapies to patients worldwide through its cutting-edge delivery technologies.
