Symbiosis Appoints Jay Chima as Vice President, Business Development

Symbiosis has appointed Jay Chima as Vice President, Business Development, strengthening its commercial team as demand continues to grow for biologics, advanced therapies, and specialist aseptic fill-finish services across the pharmaceutical outsourcing sector.

Chima brings more than 16 years of commercial experience to Symbiosis, with a track record of developing customer relationships and supporting business growth across the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. In his new role, he will contribute to the company’s commercial strategy and support its next phase of expansion.

Chima joins Symbiosis from Recipharm, where he served as Business Development Director. Previously, he held senior commercial positions at MedPharm and Advanz Pharma. Across these roles, he has worked with organizations ranging from emerging biotechnology companies to global pharmaceutical groups, building experience across different stages of the drug development and manufacturing landscape.

Based in London, Chima will work across Symbiosis’ commercial organization to strengthen relationships with existing customers, establish new strategic partnerships, and provide market insight to support the company’s growth and future investment plans.

His appointment comes during a period of sustained investment and expansion at Symbiosis. The company has undertaken a £26 million expansion program aimed at increasing sterile manufacturing capacity, enhancing technical capabilities, and strengthening infrastructure to support a broader range of clinical and commercial manufacturing programs.

With Chima joining the commercial leadership team, Symbiosis aims to build on its growing capabilities and strengthen its partnerships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology innovators. His industry experience is expected to support the company as it expands its customer base and develops new opportunities across the evolving pharmaceutical outsourcing market.
