Hans Trees
Lonza has appointed Hans Trees as Global Head of Communications, Senior Vice President, and a member of the company's Extended Executive Committee.
He will officially join Lonza on September 1, 2026, succeeding David Carter, who has led the company's Communications function since 2019.
Hans Trees brings extensive experience in corporate communications, strategic leadership, and business management across global organizations. In his new role, he will oversee Lonza's global communications strategy, supporting the company's business objectives while strengthening stakeholder engagement and corporate reputation.
Before joining Lonza, Trees served as Global Head of External Engagement at Roche. During his 11-year tenure at the global healthcare company, he held several senior leadership positions across both the Pharmaceuticals Division and Group functions, where he was responsible for advancing strategic communications and external engagement initiatives.
Earlier in his career, Trees gained experience in management consulting at Aon and investment banking at Rothschild & Co. His diverse professional background has provided him with expertise in corporate strategy, stakeholder communications, and business leadership across multiple industries.
Academically, Trees holds degrees from University of Cambridge, London School of Economics and Political Science, and Durham University.
His appointment reflects Lonza's commitment to strengthening its global communications leadership as the company continues to expand its position in the life sciences and healthcare manufacturing sector. Trees' broad experience in communications, strategy, and executive leadership is expected to support Lonza's long-term growth and enhance engagement with customers, investors, employees, and other key stakeholders worldwide.
