Joseph Miller
LB Pharmaceuticals Inc., a neuromedicines company developing and commercializing therapies for underserved brain disorders, has appointed Joseph Miller as Chief Financial Officer.
Miller brings more than two decades of experience in financial strategy, operations, enterprise transformation, and organizational growth across publicly traded biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. His background includes scaling financial infrastructure and teams to support corporate growth, commercialization, and long-term value creation.
Before joining LB Pharmaceuticals, Miller served as Chief Financial Officer of Aurinia Pharmaceuticals. During his tenure, he built and expanded the company’s financial and operational infrastructure as it transitioned from late-stage clinical development to the commercial launch of LUPKYNIS (voclosporin), the first FDA-approved oral therapy for active lupus nephritis.
At Aurinia, Miller also supported significant revenue growth, profitability, and the completion of an ex-U.S. licensing and collaboration agreement with Otsuka Pharmaceutical.
Previously, Miller served as Chief Financial Officer, Principal Executive Officer, and Corporate Secretary of Avalo Therapeutics, formerly Cerecor. He led the acquisitions of Aevi Genomic Medicine and Ichorion Therapeutics and helped execute the company’s strategic transformation, including the divestiture of its commercial portfolio to Aytu BioScience.
Earlier, Miller was Vice President of Finance at Sucampo Pharmaceuticals, where he helped build the finance organization to support the company’s rapid growth and eventual merger with Mallinckrodt.
Miller began his career in progressive finance leadership roles at QIAGEN, Eppendorf, and KPMG LLP. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from Villanova University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
In his new role, Miller will support LB Pharmaceuticals’ financial strategy and organizational growth as the company advances its neuromedicine programs.
