Christopher K. Porter
Enveda, a biotechnology company pioneering AI-driven drug discovery from nature, has appointed Christopher K. Porter, MBA, JD as Senior Vice President, Clinical Operations.
He brings extensive experience in clinical development strategy, operational transformation, and scaling clinical organizations across complex therapeutic programs.
Mr. Porter joins Enveda at a key stage of growth as the company advances multiple clinical-stage assets and strengthens its operational infrastructure to support an expanding pipeline. His appointment reflects Enveda’s focus on operational excellence and disciplined execution as it transitions from a platform-focused organization to a multi-asset clinical-stage biotech company.
Most recently, he served as Vice President of Development Strategy and Innovation at Theravance Biopharma, where he led the restructuring of development operations across three programs involving nine late-phase global clinical trials. His work delivered significant efficiency improvements, including faster patient enrollment, reduced database lock timelines, and cost optimization, while maintaining high-quality execution standards. He also implemented decentralized clinical trial strategies and established central monitoring systems to modernize clinical operations.
Prior to that, Mr. Porter co-founded Clinipace Worldwide, where he served as President, Chief Operating Officer, and General Counsel. He played a key role in scaling the global CRO to more than 800 employees across 30 countries, with responsibilities spanning clinical operations, corporate development, regulatory affairs, and quality assurance. He was recognized in PharmaVoice 100 (2008) and was a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in the Southeast Healthcare & Life Sciences category in 2015.
Mr. Porter holds an MBA in Marketing and a Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he also earned his undergraduate degree in Journalism. He is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and serves on the board of the UNC Law Institute for Innovation.
