Tiago Nunes
Egetis Therapeutics AB (publ) (“Egetis” or the “Company”) has appointed Tiago Nunes, MD, PhD, as Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
He is an experienced clinical development leader with a strong track record in advancing rare disease therapies through regulatory approval and commercialization, having most recently served as Senior Vice President, Clinical Development at Mirum Pharmaceuticals.
At Mirum Pharmaceuticals, Tiago Nunes led the clinical development of Livmarli® and played a key role in its successful regulatory approval and launch. Under his leadership, the company advanced its rare disease pipeline across multiple milestones, including regulatory approvals, label expansions, and progression of clinical programs such as volixibat for cholestatic liver diseases.
Prior to Mirum, he served as Clinical Development Lead at Nestle Health Science, where he provided medical leadership in gastrointestinal and rare disease drug development programs.
Dr. Nunes earned his medical degree from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, where he also completed his residency in gastroenterology. He holds a Master’s degree in Biomedicine and a PhD in Medicine from the University of Barcelona.
Egetis also announced that outgoing CMO Kristina Sjöblom Nygren, MD, will remain with the company until Emcitate® (tiratricol) receives U.S. approval, ensuring a smooth transition of medical leadership responsibilities to Dr. Nunes.
