NextCell Pharma Appoints Eric Gustafsson as Chief Financial Officer

NextCell Pharma AB has appointed Eric Gustafsson as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Eric succeeds Patrik Fagerholm, who is leaving the company to pursue a new role outside the group. With a strong background in financial leadership and industrial growth within the pharmaceutical sector, Eric’s appointment is expected to further support NextCell’s strategic development and long-term expansion.

Eric Gustafsson holds a master’s degree in economics and finance and brings extensive experience across finance, manufacturing, and business development within the international pharmaceutical and contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) landscape. He has held several senior leadership roles at Recipharm, one of the world’s leading CDMOs. His responsibilities there included serving as General Manager, Interim CFO for a portion of Recipharm’s European operations during a divestment process, and Senior Commercial Manager within the oral solid dosage (OSD) segment.

Prior to Recipharm, Eric held key financial leadership roles at Cobra Biologics, gaining valuable experience in biologics manufacturing environments. Earlier in his career, he worked in auditing at KPMG, building a strong foundation in financial governance, compliance, and reporting.

Eric’s professional background spans strategic and operational finance, manufacturing oversight, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial development. He brings a deep understanding of regulated pharmaceutical environments, quality-driven operations, and complex production processes. This combination of skills positions him well to support NextCell as the company continues its growth journey and advances toward industrial-scale operations, strengthening its financial structure to support future development and execution.
