Dr. Zivjena Vucetic
Mission Bio, a leader in single-cell multi-omics for precision medicine, has appointed Dr. Zivjena Vucetic, M.D., Ph.D., as Chief Medical Officer, underscoring the company’s commitment to expanding the clinical adoption of its technologies and strengthening collaborations with biopharma partners.
A seasoned physician-scientist with over 15 years of experience in diagnostics and emerging technologies, Dr. Vucetic has led strategic initiatives to transition cutting-edge innovations from research to clinical application, building regulatory confidence and accelerating adoption across therapeutic areas.
Most recently, Dr. Vucetic served as Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President at Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, where she shaped medical strategy for a multibillion-dollar global portfolio and advanced blood-based biomarker programs in Alzheimer’s and neurodegenerative diseases.
Before that, she was instrumental at Karius in establishing the clinical and regulatory framework for an infectious disease sequencing test that earned FDA Breakthrough Device Designation. Her earlier leadership roles at Clinical Genomics, Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, and Fujirebio Diagnostics reflect her expertise in validation, payer engagement, publication strategy, and partnership building with pharma and academia.
At Mission Bio, Dr. Vucetic will guide medical strategy and translational initiatives for the Tapestri Platform, which is widely used to detect rare cell populations, profile clonal heterogeneity, validate biomarkers, and support cell and gene therapy pipelines.
Her appointment comes as Mission Bio expands into translational and late-stage therapeutic development, with advances in tri-omics, sample multiplexing, and its growing Pharma Assay Development (PAD) service line.
