Margarida Duarte
Genmab A/S, an international biotech company specializing in antibody-based medicines, has appointed Margarida Duarte as General Manager, Europe and Emerging Markets.
The move supports the company’s ongoing expansion of its global commercialization footprint to bring innovative cancer therapies to more patients.
In her new role, Duarte will lead Genmab’s commercial operations across Europe and emerging markets, focusing on driving alignment, operational performance, and launch excellence. She will play a key role in advancing the company’s mission to improve outcomes for patients with cancer and other serious diseases by strengthening its presence across diverse healthcare systems.
Duarte brings more than 20 years of international leadership experience in the biotechnology sector, with a strong focus on oncology. Most recently, she served as Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Deciphera Pharmaceuticals, where she led global commercialization efforts across the U.S., Europe, and distributor markets, successfully guiding the company’s transition into a multiproduct organization.
Earlier in her career, she held senior leadership roles at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, Exelixis, Onyx Pharmaceuticals, and Amgen, where she led European commercialization strategies and supported major oncology product launches.
Duarte will be based in Zug, Switzerland, and will report to the company’s Chief Commercial Officer.
