Dr. Henning Steinhagen
Symeres has appointed Dr. Henning Steinhagen as Chief Executive Officer, marking a significant step in the company’s continued expansion as an integrated partner for biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies worldwide.
Dr. Steinhagen succeeds Guillaume Jetten, who played a key role in strengthening the organization’s operational and scientific capabilities during a period of rapid growth and transformation.
Dr. Steinhagen brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and CRO/CDMO sectors. With a strong scientific background combined with extensive executive leadership expertise, he joins Symeres at a pivotal stage in the company’s evolution. Most recently, he served as CEO and co-founder of Lario Therapeutics and also worked as a Venture Partner at Epidarex Capital.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Steinhagen served as President of Research and Development at Aptuit, where he contributed significantly to the company’s growth and its eventual acquisition by Evotec AG in 2017. He also held leadership roles including Senior Vice President and Head of Global Drug Discovery at Grünenthal, along with senior positions at Sanofi and Bayer Pharma.
Dr. Steinhagen holds a PhD in Chemistry and an Executive MBA from IMD Business School. He will now lead Symeres as the company continues to expand its “One Symeres” integrated platform, supporting strategic partnerships across drug discovery and development with a global team of more than 500 scientists across nine international sites.
