Dr. Thomas Broudy
BioCina, a leading pharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), has appointed of Dr. Thomas Broudy as Chief Executive Officer, tasked with leading the company’s growth in biologic drug substance and sterile drug product development and manufacturing services.
Dr. Broudy brings over 20 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical and CDMO sectors, with expertise spanning operations, business development, and strategic leadership. Prior to this appointment, he served as Chairman of BioCina’s Board of Directors and as Operating Partner of Bridgewest Group’s life sciences portfolio, playing a key role in shaping BioCina’s strategic vision and operational direction.
His career covers the full drug development value chain, including executive roles at both innovative biotech firms and outsourced service providers. Notably, Dr. Broudy was Executive Vice President, Corporate Development & Marketing at BioDuro-Sundia, leading the go-to-market strategy for the 2,500-person integrated CRDMO, and co-founded Molecular Response, which was acquired by Crown Bioscience, where he served as General Manager and contributed to a successful IPO on the Taipei Exchange.
He has also served as CEO of January Therapeutics and held commercial leadership positions at AltheaDx and Affymetrix.
Dr. Broudy has a strong technical background, completing postdoctoral appointments at Rockefeller University and Stanford University in host/microbial genomics, and earning his PhD in Bacterial Pathogenesis and Immunology at Rockefeller University.
His appointment coincides with BioCina’s recent merger of its Adelaide-based drug substance facility and Perth-based large-scale sterile drug product facility, providing customers with a fully integrated, one-stop solution from clinical development to commercial production of microbial proteins, plasmids, and mRNA/LNP products.
