Ariane de Ganck

Ardena, a specialist pharmaceutical CDMO and bioanalytical CRO supporting the development of precision medicines and complex therapies, has appointed Ariane de Ganck, PhD, as Chief Scientific Officer (CSO). 

The appointment underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening scientific excellence across its integrated development and manufacturing services.

As Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. de Ganck will help align scientific expertise across Ardena’s global network, ensuring customers benefit from coordinated technical guidance, consistent project execution, and effective regulatory strategies throughout the drug development lifecycle. Her leadership will support programs ranging from early-stage development to clinical and commercial manufacturing.

Dr. de Ganck brings extensive experience within Ardena, having served as Head of the Drug Product division since 2022 and most recently as Chief Commercial Officer. Since joining the company in 2019, she has played a key role in expanding Ardena’s capabilities, including overseeing drug product operations, leading the acquisition and integration of the Pamplona facility, and supporting the growth of aseptic fill-finish services.

In her new role, she will oversee three strategic functions: Science & Technology, Project Management, and CMC Regulatory Affairs. Through these areas, she will drive scientific collaboration across Ardena’s sites and external expert networks, strengthen project management practices to ensure a consistent customer experience, and continue guiding regulatory strategies that support global clinical and commercial approvals across multiple therapeutic modalities.

Prior to joining Ardena, Dr. de Ganck worked at Biogazelle, a specialist contract research organization focused on biomarker discovery and diagnostics, where she contributed to the company’s growth before its acquisition by CellCarta. Her professional experience spans both CRO and CDMO environments, with expertise in drug product development, biomarker research, laboratory services, and CMC regulatory affairs.

Dr. de Ganck holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences with a specialization in oncology and protein biology. Her research focused on proteins involved in cancer cell migration and invasion, followed by work in nanobody research utilizing camelid-derived single-domain antibodies to target cancer-related proteins—an area closely aligned with the development of next-generation biotherapeutics.

The appointment coincides with the launch of Ardena’s refreshed brand identity and new tagline, “We know development™,” reflecting the company’s focus on scientific expertise, customer partnership, and advancing innovative therapies from development through commercialization.
