“As we continue to expand our global capacity to meet growing demand and support pipeline growth, our commitment to the highest quality standards remains unwavering,” said David A. Ricks, Chair and CEO of Lilly. “With more than 25 years of experience and a distinguished track record in leading strategic quality initiatives, Melissa will be pivotal in strengthening Lilly’s culture of quality as we deliver innovative medicines to patients worldwide.”

She has been instrumental in ensuring industry-leading quality and regulatory compliance throughout her career.

“I’m honored to join Lilly and contribute to its outstanding commitment to quality, where patient health and safety are prioritized,” Seymour said. “With Lilly’s rapid expansion and promising pipeline, upholding the highest quality standards is essential, and I’m excited to play a role in shaping the company’s future success.”

Seymour holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Biological Sciences and Biochemistry from North Carolina State University, along with an Executive MBA from Duke University. She also holds multiple quality certifications from the American Society for Quality and actively participates in industry organizations, including the Parenteral Drug Association.

Ricks also expressed his gratitude to Johna Norton, stating, “Johna’s dedication has had a profound impact on millions of patients who rely on our medicines. Her contributions will continue to benefit Lilly long after her retirement.”
