Reunion Neuroscience Appoints Sahil V. Kirpekar, M.D., as President and CEO

Reunion Neuroscience has appointed Sahil V. Kirpekar, M.D., as President, Chief Executive Officer, and a member of the company's Board of Directors.

He succeeds Greg Mayes in these roles as Reunion continues advancing next-generation psychedelic-inspired therapies for underserved mental health disorders.

Dr. Kirpekar joins Reunion at a pivotal stage as the company builds on positive clinical results in postpartum depression and expands the development of luvesilocin into multiple psychiatric indications, including Phase 2 clinical trials for adjustment disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. He brings nearly two decades of experience spanning commercial strategy, business development, capital markets, company building, and clinical-stage value creation within the life sciences sector.

Before joining Reunion Neuroscience, Dr. Kirpekar served as Chief Business Officer at Atai Life Sciences, where he led corporate strategy, business development, investments, portfolio management, and financing activities. During his tenure, he directed several strategic transactions and acquisitions, including the acquisition of Beckley Psytech, while also serving on the boards of multiple public and private biotechnology companies.

Earlier, Dr. Kirpekar spent more than eight years at Otsuka Pharmaceutical, most recently as Global Head of Business Development. In that role, he was responsible for global partnering strategy and business development across central nervous system disorders, immunology, nephrology, oncology, and rare diseases. Throughout his career, he has led transactions worth several billion dollars, covering early-stage research collaborations through commercial-stage assets.

A physician by training, Dr. Kirpekar holds a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree from University of Cambridge. He also serves as an Honorary Lecturer at the university and is a Venture Advisor to Angelini Ventures S.p.A., where he advises on biotechnology investments and company-building initiatives.

His appointment strengthens Reunion Neuroscience's leadership as the company advances its pipeline of innovative psychiatric therapies and expands its clinical development programs.
