Maja Pedersen
FUJIFILM Biotechnologies has appointed Maja Pedersen as President, in addition to her role as Chief Operating Officer.
The leadership transition is part of a planned succession, with Lars Petersen stepping down as President and CEO and transitioning to the role of Strategic Advisor through September 30, 2026.
Over the past several years, Petersen led the transformation of FUJIFILM Biotechnologies under its Partners for Life strategy, expanding the company’s global manufacturing network, strengthening its international presence, and establishing its position as a leading contract development and manufacturing organization.
As the company enters its next phase, Pedersen will help drive a stronger focus on operational excellence, quality, customer delivery, and maximizing the value of the global kojoX manufacturing platform.
Pedersen became Chief Operating Officer in 2025, with responsibility for site operations, supply chain, quality, process development, and global manufacturing science and technology (MSAT). She returned to FUJIFILM Biotechnologies in 2023 as Chief Quality Officer.
Before rejoining the company, Pedersen served as Global Head of External Manufacturing at Biogen, where she oversaw the company’s CDMO network. She brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across the life sciences and biopharmaceutical industries, with senior roles spanning quality assurance and control, regulatory affairs, and external manufacturing.
