Phio Pharmaceuticals Appoints Dr. R. Todd Plott to Board of Directors

Phio Pharmaceuticals Corp., a clinical-stage siRNA biopharmaceutical company developing cancer therapies using its proprietary INTASYL® gene silencing technology, has appointed R. Todd Plott, M.D., to its Board of Directors. 

Dr. Plott brings more than 30 years of experience in dermatology, clinical research, pharmaceutical development, and regulatory advisory roles.

A board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Plott has built an extensive career advancing treatments for acne, skin cancer, and other dermatologic conditions through pharmaceutical research and innovation. Throughout his career, he has overseen and monitored hundreds of clinical trials, gaining significant expertise in drug development, clinical research, and patient care. His experience spans both academic and clinical settings, with a strong focus on translating scientific discoveries into improved therapeutic options for patients.

In addition to his clinical and research accomplishments, Dr. Plott served on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Dermatologic and Ophthalmic Drug Advisory Committee from 2016 to 2021. During his tenure, he contributed to the evaluation of investigational therapies and regulatory decisions affecting dermatology and ophthalmology, demonstrating his leadership and expertise in the field.

Dr. Plott currently practices dermatology in a private clinical setting, where he specializes in the treatment of complex skin diseases, acne, and skin cancer. His broad experience in clinical medicine, drug development, and regulatory science is expected to strengthen Phio Pharmaceuticals' Board as the company advances its pipeline of RNA interference-based cancer therapies.

The appointment reinforces Phio's commitment to expanding its leadership with experienced medical and scientific experts as it continues developing innovative gene-silencing therapies for oncology.
