Pulse Biosciences Announces Novel Cellfx® NSPFA Cardiac Surgery System
Pulse Biosciences has announced a novel cellfx® nspfa cardiac surgery system for the ablation of cardiac tissue for the treatment of atrial fibrillation (AF).
A surgical clamp, is designed to create durable, continuous transmural ablation lesions for treating atrial fibrillation during cardiac surgery.
Utilizing the nanosecond PFA technology, the system delivers a consistent ablation in less than 2 seconds, significantly faster than traditional thermal ablation methods, while minimizing the risk of damage to surrounding tissues due to its non-thermal mechanism.
The potential advantages of short-duration, high-amplitude energy pulses with a non-thermal approach indicate a safer and more effective treatment option. The preclinical results have stated that this technology could greatly improve the surgical treatment of atrial fibrillation.
The cardiac surgery system enables to provide access to this technology to patients and surgeons as quickly as possible.
US FDA has granted breakthrough device designation for novel device Cellfx® NSPFA cardiac surgery system for the treatment of atrial fibrillation.
