PharmAla Biotech Introduces Novel Phenesafe AI Platform to Discover New Phenethylamine Compounds

PharmAla Biotech Holdings, a biotechnology firm specialising in the research, development, and manufacture of LaNeo™ MDMA and new MDMA derivatives (MDXX class molecules), has officially launched its Phenesafe AI platform.

This AI technology stack is designed to discover novel substituted phenethylamine molecules for patenting and further development.

PharmAla’s research and development team has focused on creating a drug discovery platform aimed at identifying additional molecules within the MDXX class. The views this class of molecules as having significant potential to treat various psychiatric and neurological conditions.

The ongoing development of these new molecules remains a key part of PharmAla’s work, with Phenesafe AI enabling faster and more efficient creation of valuable products.

Phenesafe AI combines several tools, including a QSAR model developed in partnership with the University of Windsor, supported by a grant from the Ontario Centres of Innovation, alongside specialised AI chemical pathway modelling tools. Together, these tools allow for the design, screening, and patenting of new molecules in the wider MDXX class.

The platform supports the discovery process by identifying neurological targets such as specific receptors and transporters, analysing structure-function relationships, and assessing how easily molecules can be synthesized, a crucial factor for securing patents.

Throughout this process, the focus remains on the intended medical use, safety profile, and overall function of the molecules.

PharmAla’s approach to drug development centres on building deep expertise within a specific drug class, taking advantage of regulatory pathways available for the MDXX class, prioritising safety pharmacology, and developing molecules aimed at addressing significant unmet medical needs.
