Pfizer Launches First-of-its Kind Innovative Technologies for Hemophilia Patients
Pfizer Launches Hemocraft™ and HemMobile® Striiv® Wearable to Enhance Hemophilia Management
Pfizer recently introduced two innovative solutions for individuals with hemophilia in the US: Hemocraft™, a modified version of the popular game Minecraft®, and the HemMobile® Striiv® Wearable wristband. These advancements aim to provide better approaches and activity tracking for people living with hemophilia.
Hemocraft specifically targets younger individuals aged 8-16 with hemophilia, offering an engaging and educational gaming environment. Within the game, players interact with a fictional health care professional called the village doctor, who guides them on adhering to treatment plans, staying prepared, and understanding the intricacies of their treatment.
Throughout the game, players are challenged to monitor their factor levels and perform self-infusions when necessary to control bleeding. Hemocraft is available for download at HEMOCRAFTQuest.com.
These educational tools enable individuals with bleeding disorders to grasp the concept of factor levels, helping them stay active and engaged in the game.
Hemophilia is a rare bleeding disorder that affects approximately 20,000 people in the US and an estimated 400,000 individuals worldwide. Pfizer's digital innovations aim to empower individuals with hemophilia by providing valuable knowledge and tools for tracking various aspects of their disease, seamlessly integrating into their daily routines.
Pfizer's commitment to ongoing innovation, research, and support programs aims to make a positive impact in the lives of patients with hemophilia, pioneering a new era in the field.
Additionally, Pfizer introduces the HemMobile Striiv Wearable, the first wrist-worn device designed specifically for patients with hemophilia. This comprehensive and user-friendly tool tracks daily activity levels and monitors heart rate to measure intensity.
The HemMobile Striiv Wearable seamlessly integrates with Pfizer's existing HemMobile® app, allowing users to log bleeds and infusions, monitor their factor supply, and set appointment reminders.
The captured data generates personalized reports, empowering healthcare teams with valuable insights to facilitate informed discussions between physicians and patients, ultimately improving patient care and outcomes.
