Halia and Biolexis Partner Announces Novel NLRP3 Target for Neuroinflammation

Halia Therapeutics has tied up with Biolexis Therapeutics, resulting in the discovery of a novel small molecule candidate capable of crossing the blood-brain barrier and targeting neuroinflammation driven by NLRP3. The candidate was discovered using Biolexis' MolecuLern™ AI technology.

This gives a significant step in treatments for neuroinflammatory disorders, such as Parkinson’s disease and other neurodegenerative conditions. The integration of advanced AI tools expertise in neuroinflammation has proven beneficial in identifying a promising clinical candidate.

MolecuLern AI technology is a vital role in discovering several innovative therapeutic candidates with effective safety profiles for protein targets related to diseases with high unmet medical needs.

The newly identified clinical candidate is now set to progress to further preclinical studies, aiming to provide a new treatment option for neuroinflammatory disorders. These conditions are marked by chronic brain inflammation that leads to ongoing neuronal damage, presenting significant clinical challenges.

The new therapeutic approach aims to tackle the root causes of these debilitating diseases by specifically targeting NLRP3-driven neuroinflammation.
