Firefly Neuroscience Introduces Innovative Brain Age Biomarker for Early Alzheimer’s Detection with FDA-Cleared BNA™ Platform

Firefly Neuroscience has announced significant progress in its research on brain age assessment. The development leverages the company’s FDA-cleared BNA™ technology platform.

The concept of brain age refers to the biological age of an individual's brain, which can differ from their chronological age. By integrating Resting EEG and Cognitive EEG (ERP) data, the BNA™ system has demonstrated the ability to assess brain age.

This marks a notable advancement, as it is the first time cognitive data measured through ERP has been effectively used for such assessments.

The findings, presented at the AD/PD 2024 conference, highlight the potential of this technology to reveal disparities between brain age and chronological age.

Such differences could act as indicators for conditions like dementia, supporting early identification and proactive intervention.

By enabling the measurement of brain age via EEG, Firefly aims to establish a scalable approach for screening and monitoring brain health, particularly for Alzheimer’s disease.

This innovation reinforces the company’s commitment to advancing brain health solutions and making a positive impact on patients’ lives.
