Sharp Services Invests $100M to Expand U.S. & European Manufacturing Capabilities
Introduction
Sharp Services has committed $100 million to expand capacity and enhance services across its global pharmaceutical network. This programme is designed to support growing demand for clinical and commercial medicines, particularly in injectable and oral solid dose (OSD) packaging and sterile fill/finish operations. The investment reinforces Sharp’s presence across six US and three European facilities.

The expansion includes significant upgrades to sterile fill/finish and injectable packaging operations in both the US and Europe.
A new isolator-based filling line with lyophilisation capabilities will be installed at the company’s sterile manufacturing site in Lee, Massachusetts, along with related infrastructure improvements.
Sharp’s Allentown campus will add new syringe assembly, labelling and packaging equipment, as well as enhanced bottling and automated pouching for OSD products.
Meanwhile, the Bethlehem facility is expanding clinical capabilities with chilled and frozen storage, capsule filling machines and an additional blister line.
Most of the new capabilities are expected to be operational by the end of 2025, with European injectable upgrades planned to come online in 2026.
