Lonza to Expand Early Development Services Offering into North America
Introduction:
Lonza has announced plans to add a new laboratory in Cambridge, Massachusetts, as part of its effort to increase the availability of its Early Development Services (EDS) in North America (US).
Features:
The 17,000 square foot centre, which is nearby the Boston biotech community, expands Lonza's current EDS product line.
Customers already benefit from improved bio therapeutic candidate safety and manufacturability due to its current EDS facility.
Moreover, customers will be able to assess, reduce risk, and improve potential biotherapeutic drug candidates at the new facility in order to increase their chances of success.
Additionally, the clients will benefit from the early identification and mitigation of potential issues before clinical trials, which lowers the likelihood of drug candidate failure and may hasten the time to clinic.
A variety of in silico, early non-GMP protein translation, and in vitro immunogenicity services are offered as services.
The same services, such as early non-GMP expression and in vitro immuno-safety evaluation, will be provided by the new facility.
It will expand Lonza's Early Development Services into the US, mainly benefiting small- to mid-sized biotech firms in the preclinical stage of developing biologic drug candidates.
Lonza will be able to assist clients throughout the entire product life cycle within its US site network—from early development through commercialization because of this facility opening.
The facility is expected to start for operations in May 2023.
