Johnson & Johnson Invests $1B to Expand U.S. Vision Manufacturing & Distribution

Introduction:

Johnson & Johnson has announced an investment of more than $1 billion to expand its Vision manufacturing operations in Jacksonville, Florida. The project is designed to increase domestic manufacturing, packaging and distribution capacity for the company's ACUVUE® contact lenses.

Features:

The expansion will include the construction of a new distribution facility and the installation of advanced manufacturing and packaging systems to improve production efficiency and increase output.

The upgraded site will support larger-scale production of ACUVUE® contact lenses while enhancing storage, packaging and logistics capabilities.

Johnson & Johnson has operated in Jacksonville for more than four decades and currently manufactures over 1.7 billion contact lenses each year at the site.

The company also operates more than 1.5 million sq ft of manufacturing, research, distribution and operational facilities in the region.

The latest investment is expected to strengthen the existing workforce of around 3,500 employees, support future business growth and reinforce Florida's position as a centre for advanced healthcare manufacturing.

The expansion also forms part of the company's long-term investment programme to modernise its manufacturing network across the United States.

The investment is part of Johnson & Johnson's broader strategy to strengthen its US manufacturing network, improve supply chain resilience and support growing demand for vision care products.
