Hovione Boosts U.S. Manufacturing with $100M New Jersey Expansion
Introduction:
Hovione, a fully integrated global contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO), has completed its initial $100 million investment cycle to expand its manufacturing site in East Windsor, New Jersey. The project supports the company’s long-term plan to grow its U.S. operations and enhance its capabilities in drug substance, drug product intermediates and finished drug products.

The expanded New Jersey campus will cover over 200,000 square feet, featuring state-of-the-art and sustainably designed facilities equipped with advanced technologies.
The first phase of expansion includes a 31,000-square-foot building that will house two size-3 spray dryers (PSD-3).
These units will produce amorphous solid dispersions (ASDs) to improve the solubility and bioavailability of drug compounds.
The investment more than doubles Hovione’s U.S. spray drying capacity and strengthens its global leadership in ASD technology.
The first phase of the New Jersey expansion is expected to be operational by the second quarter of 2026.
