The 23,680 square-foot facility will manufacture ingredients for drug delivery systems utilized in novel therapeutic drugs, including mRNA vaccines and gene editing therapies.
It will support the production of lipids already employed in therapeutics and vaccines like the COVID-19 vaccine, as well as contribute to the development of cutting-edge cancer treatments.
The new facility is a collaborative endeavor between Croda and the federal government, aiming to bolster domestic manufacturing of critical vaccines and therapeutics.
Situated within an 80-acre multipurpose cGMP site acquired by Croda in 2021, the facility will generate up to 50 employment opportunities in roles such as engineering, administration, maintenance, operations, and logistics.
The project is set to commence construction this year, with the facility expected to be operational by 2025.
