Burnside Hospital Begins $65M Health Precinct Project at Toorak Gardens
Introduction
A new $65 million Health Precinct is being developed at Toorak Gardens to expand healthcare services and meet growing patient demand.
Features
The three-storey building will include two new operating theatres to support increased day surgery, particularly in orthopaedics, and a relocated and expanded chemotherapy unit.
Other services will include radiology (Jones Radiology), radiation oncology, pathology (Clinpath), fertility and reproductive services, and the Breast & Endocrine Centre.
The building will also feature two levels of underground parking for up to 200 vehicles and a pedestrian bridge connecting it to Burnside Hospital to ensure safe patient transfers.
The new Health Precinct will improve access to specialised care and strengthen the hospital’s commitment to the community after more than 65 years of service.
Construction is expected to take 18–24 months, with the first patients likely to be welcomed in early 2028.
