Bristol Myers Squibb Announces US$2.3Billion Houston Manufacturing Campus
Introduction:
Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) has selected Houston, Texas, for a new US$2.3 billion multi-modal manufacturing campus at Generation Park. The approximately 600,000-square-foot facility will expand BMS’ domestic manufacturing capacity and support the production of small molecules, biologics and antibody-drug conjugates.

The modular campus will feature flexible manufacturing capabilities, advanced digital technologies and automation, allowing BMS to scale or reconfigure operations according to its future pipeline.
The facility will support the manufacture of small-molecule medicines, biologics and antibody-drug conjugates, covering drug product and finished-goods manufacturing from late-stage development through commercial launch.
The site will incorporate advanced digital technologies, automation and flexible manufacturing systems to improve operational speed, quality and supply reliability.
Its design will also allow additional capabilities to be introduced as manufacturing technologies and product requirements evolve.
The project is expected to create nearly 500 permanent skilled jobs, including roles in manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, quality and site management.
Construction and related activities are also expected to generate approximately 2,000 jobs.
BMS selected Houston following an assessment of several US locations, with factors including workforce availability, infrastructure, utilities, economic incentives and the region’s growing life sciences ecosystem.
