Axplora Invests €30 Million to Boost Lyophilization Capacity at Le Mans Facility
Introduction
Axplora, a contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) specialising in complex small molecules and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), has announced a major investment to expand its lyophilization (freeze-drying) capabilities at its Le Mans, France site. The expansion will enhance the site’s ability to provide reliable and efficient ADC manufacturing for biotech and pharmaceutical customers.
Features
The investment will add on-site commercial lyophilization, complementing existing R&D capabilities.
This will provide integrated solutions for handling complex payloads and linkers, particularly where stability and safe handling are critical.
Le Mans will further consolidate its position as a leading ADC manufacturing site, building on established expertise in payloads, linkers, and drug substances.
With more than 600 ADCs in development worldwide and increasing clinical timelines, the expansion aligns site capacity, capabilities, and operational readiness with customer demands for scalable and dependable ADC manufacturing.
The new lyophilization capabilities are expected to be operational in 2027.
