AstraZeneca invests ₹166 Crore to Expand Global Hub in Bangalore

Introduction:

AstraZeneca, a global biopharmaceutical company focused on scientific innovation, has announced a significant expansion of its Global Hub in Bangalore, India. The project, backed by an investment of ₹166 crore. The expansion is aimed at strengthening the company’s capabilities in research and development, artificial intelligence (AI), global services, and digital health.

Features:

The new Bangalore facility will support a range of critical operations across AstraZeneca’s global network. 

It will enhance clinical research aligned with the company’s main therapeutic areas and accelerate the development of AI-based healthcare solutions. 

In addition, the site will serve as a centre for centralised data analytics, aimed at improving the efficiency of clinical trials and delivering better patient outcomes.

The new hub is also designed with environmental sustainability in mind. The facility aims to achieve LEED Platinum certification and currently runs on 75% green energy. 

It features full wastewater recycling and intelligent energy systems using IoT technologies.

The expanded hub is expected to be operational by the end of 2025.
