Agilent Technologies Invests US $725 million for Facility Expansion in Colorado

Introduction:

Agilent Technologies has selected Fluor's Advanced Technologies and Life Sciences business to expand its oligonucleotide therapeutics production plant in Colorado, according to a release from Fluor.

As part of the project, Fluor is providing engineering and procurement support. The project is worth $725 million in total.

Fluor is providing design and engineering services as well as purchasing equipment, for the new 275,000 square foot manufacturing facility that will house two manufacturing lines to double manufacturing capability.

The completed facility will enable Agilent to produce unique oligonucleic acid therapies, also known as oligos or oligonucleotides, through synthesis, purification, and lyophilization.

Short deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and ribonucleic acid (RNA) molecules are known as oligos, and they are used as active pharmaceutical components in medications for a variety of illnesses, including cancer, heart disease, rare diseases, and infectious diseases.

The project is already under way, and it should be completed by 2026.
