Sermonix and Regor Collaborate to Enhance rCARD Platform for Identifying New Breast Cancer Treatments

Tuesday, March 25, 2025

Sermonix Pharmaceuticals, a privately owned biopharmaceutical company focused on developing targeted therapies for metastatic breast cancer (mBC), has announced a strategic collaboration with Regor Therapeutics Group, a clinical-stage global biopharmaceutical company. The partnership aims to refine Regor's proprietary rCARD™ (Regor Computer Accelerated Rational Discovery) platform to identify new therapeutic targets and treatments that address unmet clinical needs in breast oncology.

This collaboration brings together the expertise of both companies, covering early discovery, preclinical and clinical development, and commercialisation. The objective is to develop treatments that not only demonstrate strong efficacy but also improve tolerability and quality of life for patients.

Sermonix is currently developing oral lasofoxifene, a Phase 3 treatment candidate for ESR1-mutated ER+ HER2- mBC. The company has extensive experience in clinical drug development and commercialisation, which is essential for successfully introducing new treatments to patients and healthcare providers.

There is growing recognition of patient concerns related to onco-sexuality, cardio-oncology, and bone health in breast cancer treatment. These areas, often overlooked in existing therapies, are of significant interest to Sermonix, particularly as breast cancer is increasingly managed as a chronic condition rather than a terminal disease.

Regor's advanced rCARD™ platform facilitates drug discovery and development, from target identification to clinical research, with improved speed and efficiency. This technology enhances the likelihood of success in developing new treatments for breast cancer patients.

Sermonix is currently enrolling participants for the Evaluation of Lasofoxifene in ESR1 Mutations (ELAINE-3) study. This trial compares the combination of lasofoxifene and CDK 4/6 inhibitor abemaciclib against fulvestrant plus abemaciclib in pre- and post-menopausal patients with locally advanced or metastatic ER+/HER2- breast cancer with an ESR1 mutation.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment between Sermonix and Regor to advancing drug development and improving outcomes for patients with metastatic breast cancer.
