RyboDyn Joins Lilly Gateway Labs to Advance Novel Immunotherapies Targeting the Dark Proteome
Friday, June 20, 2025
RyboDyn, Inc., a biotechnology company focused on developing new immunotherapies aimed at the dark proteome, has been selected to join Lilly Gateway Labs (LGL) in San Diego. Operated in partnership with Alexandria Real Estate Equities, LGL provides emerging biotech firms with access to Eli Lilly and Company’s global scientific and business expertise.
RyboDyn’s research centres on a recently discovered cryptic proteome—hidden protein-coding elements from previously overlooked RNA. Using its proprietary RyboCypher™ platform, which combines advanced sequencing and AI, the company has identified a new category of cancer-specific targets found on tumour cell surfaces but not present in healthy tissue. In collaboration with Moffitt Cancer Center, RyboDyn has shown that several of these targets—known as Dark Targets™—are shared across different patients, making them promising candidates for precision immunotherapies.
RyboDyn’s inclusion in LGL is part of the broader Lilly Catalyze360™ initiative, which supports early-stage biotech ventures by offering access to laboratory space, drug development expertise, and investment opportunities through three key pillars: Lilly Gateway Labs®, Lilly ExploR&D™, and Lilly Ventures.
With its new base at the One Alexandria Square Megacampus in Torrey Pines, RyboDyn plans to speed up development of its dark proteome-based therapies, strengthen industry collaborations, and move closer to clinical studies in humans.
