QUANTRO Therapeutics Achieves Significant Milestone in Collaboration with Boehringer Ingelheim for the Development of Novel Cancer Therapies

Wednesday, June 05, 2024

Quantro Therapeutics (Quantro) has achieved a significant milestone in its collaboration with Boehringer Ingelheim. Through the use of Quantro's proprietary QUANTROseq® Transcriptional Fingerprint technology, the joint research and development program met all its predetermined objectives, including technical proof-of-concept and the identification of promising compounds for a previously untreatable transcription factor.

Cancer remains a major global health challenge, with limited treatment options for many patients. Transcription factors, which play a crucial role in regulating gene expression and are often dysregulated in cancer, offer a promising avenue for therapeutic intervention. Initiated in 2022, the collaboration aims to develop innovative therapies to address this unmet medical need.

Quantro, emphasized the company's commitment to improving cancer treatment outcomes and its anticipation of developing new compounds in partnership with Boehringer Ingelheim. This milestone underscores Quantro's dedication to advancing its transcriptomic research platform and building a pipeline of novel compounds targeting transcription factors, regulatory proteins, and cellular signaling pathways.

Boehringer Ingelheim, commended the robust proof-of-concept demonstrated by Quantro's technology and the promising hits identified in initial screenings. The collaboration looks forward to advancing these findings into further discovery and development stages to address the significant unmet medical needs in cancer treatment.

Upon reaching this milestone, Quantro will receive an undisclosed payment, supplementing previous upfront payments and research funding. The total potential value of the collaboration could exceed EUR 500 million, encompassing research funding and milestones tied to successful discovery, development, regulatory approval, and commercialization.
