OXB Introduces Fast-Track Offering to Speed Up Viral Vector Development and Manufacture
Tuesday, April 14, 2026
OXB has launched a new fast-track development and manufacturing service to support programmes using adeno-associated viral (AAV) and lentiviral (LV) vectors. The offering is designed to provide a quicker route to GMP manufacturing for eligible biotech clients.
The service has been introduced in response to rising demand for faster development timelines. It uses the company’s proprietary inAAVate™ and LentiVector™ platforms to deliver a more efficient and cost-effective pathway. This approach aims to help clients reach clinical and regulatory milestones sooner and improve access to advanced treatments.
For AAV vectors, the fast-track programme can reduce the timeline to GMP manufacturing from around 15 months to approximately seven months. It is particularly suited for wild-type AAVs and uses a streamlined platform that removes several development steps while maintaining strong performance and consistency. Additional support is provided through in-house expertise in analytical development and qualification.
For lentiviral vectors, the new service can shorten typical timelines of 12 to 18 months to about nine months. This is achieved by using platform data, advanced analytics and a direct transition from scale-down models to GMP production. Further efficiencies come from integrating vector design, production, purification and fill-finish processes.
With this launch, OXB aims to expand access to its inAAVate™ and LentiVector™ platforms, especially for companies working under time or financial constraints. The initiative supports faster progress in viral vector development and strengthens the company’s role as a provider of development and manufacturing services in the cell and gene therapy sector.
