Nxera Pharma Reaches Second Development Milestone in Eli Lilly Collaboration for Metabolic Diseases

Nxera Pharma Co., Ltd. has reached a second development milestone under its multi-target collaboration and licence agreement with Eli Lilly and Company, focused on diabetes and metabolic diseases. The milestone triggers a payment to Nxera, although the amount has not been disclosed.
The company confirmed that the announcement meets disclosure requirements, as the milestone reflects meaningful progress in its research and development activities.
The collaboration, signed in 2022, combines Nxera’s expertise in GPCR-focused structure-based drug design with Lilly’s capabilities in development, commercialisation, and therapeutic areas. The latest milestone demonstrates the effectiveness of Nxera’s NxWave™ platform in identifying small molecule binders to GPCR targets and determining receptor structures with these molecules, helping to reveal binding sites.
Following this progress, Lilly will take responsibility for further development and commercialisation of the programme.
Under the agreement, Nxera is eligible to receive up to US$694 million in development and commercial milestone payments, along with tiered royalties on global sales.
