Nuclera Introduces Antibody Screening Service for AI-Based Drug Discovery

Nuclera has launched a new antibody screening service aimed at supporting AI-driven antibody discovery and helping researchers move more quickly from hit generation to lead selection.

The service is designed to help scientists identify the most promising antibody candidates before moving to expensive mammalian expression and functional testing stages. The launch follows the company’s Series C extension funding, which supported the addition of antibody expression and binding validation capabilities to its discovery platform.

Nuclera said the service provides a rapid upstream triage workflow that helps identify viable antibody binders early in the development process between in silico hit generation and mammalian scale-up.

Using 96-plex binary cell-free expression and binding assays, the platform can screen full-length antibody libraries in parallel. This allows researchers to reduce large candidate pools to a smaller group of confirmed binders more efficiently. The company also uses Surface Plasmon Resonance analysis on selected candidates to measure binding kinetics.

The company noted that, despite progress in bioinformatics and AI-based antibody design, experimental validation of large numbers of antibody candidates remains a major challenge. Conventional secondary screening methods are often slow and fragmented, leading to increased costs and resources being spent on non-binding candidates.

Nuclera stated that its new screening service is intended to address this issue by rapidly converting AI-generated antibody libraries into experimental binding data. The approach allows early removal of non-binders and enables researchers to focus downstream development efforts on validated candidates.
