Nimbus Therapeutics Unveils Enlargement of Its Immunology Drug Discovery Pipeline
Saturday, January 06, 2024
Nimbus Therapeutics, LLC, a biotechnology company known for its innovative computational drug discovery engine, has announced the expansion and advancement of its pipeline by introducing discovery programs targeting innate immunity pathways. These initiatives focus on the salt-inducible kinase (SIK) family and cyclic GMP-AMP synthase (cGAS), showcasing Nimbus' proficiency in computational and structure-based drug design to develop potent medicines for significant unmet medical needs.
Peter Tummino, Ph.D., Chief Scientific Officer of Nimbus, stated, "Expanding from the success of our TYK2 program, we are diversifying our drug discovery engine to tackle challenging targets with compelling biology. SIK and cGAS present critical opportunities in prevalent diseases, aligning well with Nimbus' structure-based drug design approach. We are eager to progress our discovery and development programs in oncology, immunology, and metabolism to bring transformative medicines to patients."
Nimbus is currently advancing the Phase 1/2 trial (NCT05128487) of NDI-101150, a small molecule inhibitor targeting hematopoietic progenitor kinase 1 (HPK1). Positive dose escalation data have been reported, indicating potential monotherapy clinical benefits for patients with solid tumors. Additionally, the company plans to initiate IND-enabling activities this year for its oncology program focused on Werner syndrome helicase (WRN). Collaboration with Eli Lilly and Company is ongoing to develop novel targeted therapies activating AMPK for a broad range of metabolic disorders.
The company is actively enhancing its platform capabilities through investments in cutting-edge drug discovery technology. In addition to proprietary computational tools, Nimbus leverages state-of-the-art technology through collaborations, exemplified by its recent partnership with Anagenex, a leader in generative AI for drug design.
Jeb Keiper, M.S., MBA, Nimbus' Chief Executive Officer, is scheduled to provide an overview of the company's progress, pipeline, and anticipated milestones for 2024 and beyond at the 42nd Annual J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference on Monday, January 8, 2024, at 7:30 am PT.
