Lonza Expands TheraPEAK® Portfolio with AmpliCell® Cytokine Range and 293-GT® Medium

Lonza, one of the world’s leading contract development and manufacturing organisations (CDMOs), has announced the expansion of its TheraPEAK® portfolio with the launch of AmpliCell® Cytokines and TheraPEAK® 293-GT® Medium, further strengthening its GMP-grade solutions for cell and gene therapy.
Cytokines are vital in cell therapy manufacturing, supporting the growth, activation, and maintenance of immune cells. The TheraPEAK® AmpliCell® Cytokines are produced using a mammalian expression system engineered for high biological activity, ensuring proper folding and glycosylation for a native-like structure and function. This approach delivers greater biological relevance, consistency between batches, and improved predictability across research and GMP applications.
The TheraPEAK® 293-GT® Medium is a chemically defined, animal-origin–free formulation optimised for adeno-associated virus (AAV) production in suspension HEK293 cells. Designed for reliability and scalability, it offers a ready-to-use system that easily integrates into existing workflows. The medium works with commonly used transfection reagents and AAV enhancers, supporting strong AAV titres and high full-to-empty capsid ratios.
TheraPEAK® products are already used in FDA-approved therapies and over 130 clinical trials worldwide. The addition of AmpliCell® Cytokines and 293-GT® Medium provides researchers and manufacturers with advanced, scalable, and regulatory-ready tools to streamline cell and gene therapy development from research to clinical stages.
