KBI Biopharma Enhances Contract with Major Global Pharmaceutical Partner After Passing FDA Inspection

KBI Biopharma, Inc. (KBI), a division of JSR Life Sciences and a prominent contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), has announced a significant extension and expansion of its manufacturing agreement with a leading global pharmaceutical company. Initially established in 2020, this renewed contract now extends through 2029 and includes an additional purchase commitment for two therapeutic products, adding approximately $250 million in value over the term.
Additionally, KBI recently completed a successful U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) inspection of its mammalian production facility in Durham, North Carolina. This approval allows the facility to start commercial production of a mammalian drug substance for one of its major clients, demonstrating KBI's capacity to handle large-scale commercial therapeutic manufacturing.
