Kamada and Kedrion Agree to Extend U.S. Distribution Agreement for KEDRAB® by Two Years
Thursday, July 13, 2023
Kamada Ltd. (NASDAQ: KMDA; TASE: KMDA.TA) announced today that Kedrion has exercised its option to extend the distribution agreement with Kamada in the United States for KEDRAB® (Rabies Immune Globulin [Human]). KEDRAB is indicated for post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) of rabies infection in individuals of all ages following contact with a rabid or potentially rabid animal. The agreement now extends through March 2026, and the companies are in discussions to potentially expand their collaboration further.
Amir London, CEO of Kamada, expressed satisfaction with Kedrion's decision to extend the distribution agreement, highlighting the ongoing presence of rabies in the United States, which is transmitted by wild animals. Kamada's collaboration with Kedrion has played a key role in promoting KEDRAB and raising awareness about the disease, leading to significant growth and market share in the U.S. market, estimated to be over $150 million annually. In 2022, Kamada generated approximately $16 million in revenue from sales of KEDRAB to Kedrion for further distribution in the U.S. market, and they anticipate a significant increase in sales of the product this year.
