Johnson & Johnson has confirmed a $2 billion commitment over the next decade to expand its U.S. manufacturing capacity through a new partnership with FUJIFILM. The investment will support the establishment of a 160,000+ square foot advanced manufacturing facility at FUJIFILM’s biopharmaceutical site in Holly Springs, North Carolina, creating around 120 new jobs in the state.

Alongside this project, the company plans to announce additional advanced manufacturing facilities in the U.S. and upgrades to existing sites. These initiatives are intended to ensure that most of its advanced medicines are produced domestically, strengthening supply resilience for patients across the country.

Earlier this year, Johnson & Johnson committed $55 billion over four years to support U.S. manufacturing, research and development, and technology. The new projects reflect the company’s continued strategy of investing in healthcare innovation and expanding its domestic infrastructure.

Progress also continues at the Wilson, North Carolina facility, which will employ more than 500 people once operational and generate approximately 5,000 construction jobs during its development. Beyond North Carolina, Johnson & Johnson is also investing in R&D infrastructure focused on oncology, neuroscience, immunology, cardiovascular disease, and robotic surgery.

By leveraging FUJIFILM’s state-of-the-art site in Holly Springs, the company aims to further expand its U.S. manufacturing network, supporting thousands of jobs and advancing the development of next-generation treatments.
