Harbour BioMed strengthens global collaboration with AstraZeneca to advance next-generation oncology biotherapeutics
Tuesday, November 25, 2025
Harbour BioMed a global biopharmaceutical company focused on developing novel antibody therapies for immunology and oncology, has announced progress and expansion in its strategic collaboration with AstraZeneca, first launched in March 2025. The partnership aims to discover and develop next-generation biotherapeutics, including antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and T-cell engagers, by combining the scientific strengths of both organisations.
Under the updated agreement, AstraZeneca will continue to nominate discovery programmes to Harbour BioMed each year for the next four years. AstraZeneca will also maintain the option to license these programmes for further development. Harbour BioMed will be eligible for option fees, option-exercise payments, development and commercial milestone payments, and tiered royalties on future net sales of any licensed products. These terms remain aligned with the financial framework set out in March 2025.
Harbour BioMed highlighted that its long-standing relationship with AstraZeneca, which began in 2022, has grown into a strong and reliable partnership. The company noted that its proprietary antibody platforms provide the capabilities needed to support AstraZeneca in advancing innovative biotherapeutics aimed at meeting significant unmet medical needs and improving outcomes for patients worldwide.
